"Surprise"

We had a surprise party for my Dad this weekend. He turned 60 earlier in the month but was in a different state for his birthday so we waited. Here's the thing about my Dad. You can get him to commit to plans and at the last minute he'll change them. He'll say he's going on place and show up at another. Love him to death but when I got a call that he was thinking about coming to hang out at my house (roughly 30 minutes away from party site) it was time for some more scheming with my sisters and Mom. We came up with me taking the kids to see him at my sisters house. I was already roughly there and her house is 5 minutes away from where the party was at. We had some close calls, like Dad wondering why my Mom picked that place to have lunch and why one of his buddies truck was in the lot also. But, in the end, he was very surprised and it was great to see him enjoying time with his grand kids and friends. Happy Birthday Dad! Can't wait to surprise you again at 80!
