We're walking again. This time we will be supporting Summit Educational Resources. I've included their "about us" description. Summit send a teacher to work with B. We have someone from Summit in our home 16 hours a week. 15 of those hours are one on one teaching with B, the other hour is for family support and help make changes to B's goals. Her therapy with her Summit teacher is in a word, intense. B has thrived on the challenges they present her with and enjoys her "school time".
Donations are tax deductible, we'd love to see you at the walk too.
Autism Affects 1 in 110 Children and 1 in 70 Boys!
Summit Educational Resources is Western New York's largest not-for-profit provider of educational, therapeutic and support services to children and adolescents with autism, language disorders, and related developmental disabilities.
Our mission is to prepare children and young adults with developmental disabilities for life success. It is our vision that every child with a disability will achieve a full and productive life. For more than 35 years, we have provided educational and support services to children and families through our specialized school setting, in-home services, public school consulting, and collaborative programs in community settings.
Our students have complex needs that result from moderate to severe mental retardation, autism, seizure disorder, or other neurological disorders which impact their ability to communicate and learn. Each student has individualized educational goals developed for them by their team of teachers, therapists and parents to strengthen their skills and help them to become as independent as possible.
Your support helps us do a better job of meeting their needs to learn, live and play, regardless of their disability or challenge.
