Trust Lost

We have a daily thing to take a walk, it's normally while Dad is at work so I "man up" and take all three kids. I've been lazy of sorts lately and have be leaving the stroller safely tucked in the basement. Trouble with this lazy state of mind is that I have to allow the older two to walk. Our daughter has to hold my hand, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. While our four year old is on a longer leash you could say. He's allowed to walk in front of me but only a house or so away. Well today he decides he's going the other way home. Lucky for him, there was no need to cross a street but he did have a stretch for road that is along a very busy street. Normally I'd make him hold my hand, but since he was running full speed in front of me and I was carrying not one but two other children the best I could do was walk as fast as I could and pray that I didn't lose sight of him. Which of course happened when he turned the corner and kept going full speed! Thankfully my search ended at our door step, after asking our neighbor who was outside at the time if he saw him, I was informed that he had climbed our fence and went in the back. He was inside trying to lock me out, I got inside, scared the living day lights out of him then gave him a hug. Thank God he came home and Thank God he went right in the house. I learned my lesson, no more lazy walks, from now on he's going to be straped into something, I don't care what kind of looks I get!
