Crash... The world stops

If you're the parent of a daring child, you've had you heart stopped and the air sucked out of your lungs more times then you can count. I am however not the parent of a daring child. I'm the parent of a child who doesn't think and if he does it's already too late! After a fight/whining contest about getting dressed he finally was doing as asked. When it came to underwear he wanted to keep wearing the old, but I told him to get a new pair. This is were the not thinking comes into play. He went to grab a pair of underwear, instead of using the step stool in his room for such a time, he decided to climb up into a drawer. This plan quickly went horribly wrong as the dresser began to fall, he jumped out and thankfully the drawer he had opened jammed and didn't allow the dresser to fall all the way over. My little non dare devil is fine, not even a mark on him. I have learned that, laying out his stuff and dealing with the whining in the morning is far better then the run to find out if my child is hurt. I also learned that I need to keep him out of his room. He later went back in and pulled the dresser over again. I think he wants me to die an early death!
